What can you expect at the Mini Conference?

February 21, 2018

We are pleased to provide an update on two of the speakers’ presentations at next Tuesday’s Trust Special Interest Group Mini Conference.

The title of Justice Heath’s presentation is:

“What do Relationship Property Schemes, Russian bankers and ponzi schemes have in common?”

This most creative of titles is a taster to Justice Heath’s presentation and we are sure will prove to be a most interesting topic.

We are also able to provide an update on the specific content of Denham Martin’s presentation.  He will cover the following specific topics:

  1. IRD’s Interpretation Statement on the Taxation of Trusts
  2. BEPS reforms including implications for foreign trusts
  3. Change to the bright-line test
  4. Implications for investment trusts, trust distributions and tax avoidance
  5. The Chatfield case – obligations of the IRD when requesting information on behalf of foreign revenue authorities.

We look forward to your attendance on Tuesday.  There are a few remaining conference places.  Should you have colleagues for whom the above would be of interest be sure to let them know and encourage them to register.
